I am a teacher who has given her career to living and working in places that aren’t the norm. I’ve taught in remote communities where the nearest town has been over 3 hours away and the nearest bank has been over 9 hours down a dirt road and in a different state. I’ve been the only teacher in a school of 45 students aged between 3 and 18 and I’ve been one of four teachers in a school of under 20 students. I’ve experienced a teaching career I never could have imagined while undertaking my teaching degree in suburban Melbourne during the last 90’s. I’m a teacher who is not afraid to try new challenges in my teaching through the locations I’ve worked in and the classes I’ve had.
