Every child deserves a champion in their corner! I teach because I love to get alongside the kids who test and challenge us the most; who maybe have no one else who encourages them and to let them know just how valuable they are and how much they have to offer society once they leave our gates for good. Hopefully by believing in them, not giving up even when they might make poor decisions again and again, they might start to see that value in themselves and that might spark a little flame that changes their lives. Behind every child in a classroom there’s more than a little bit of gold to be found if you take the time to look for it and carefully and gently get through the rocks around it. I teach because EVERY child deserves a chance to unlock their potential to impact the world for good.
