I chose to become a teacher to empower young people to believe in themselves and strive to meet their potential. In my previous working life l supported adults with disability to develop their skills and confidence to achieve their goals. This experience was the impetus for me to choose a new career in teaching. As an Art Teacher l love the challenge of inspiring students to create new ways of thinking and seeing the world and express this through visual communication. Art can provide exciting opportunities to develop new skills, through practical expression and through developing ideas that critique society. Teaching is a challenging career but that one provides rewarding opportunities on a personal and professional level.
