Few jobs hold such opportunities to be leaders
Teaching still gives me an adrenalin rush even after many years of doing it. I am on show to the world – or at least to my class of students - and it really matters how it goes. Anything that is important to do in life can be gauged by how genuinely we care about the outcome. The success of the learning activity is not intended for me, of course, but for my students. As an independent learning facilitator, I walk beside them on their amazing journeys of discovery each day and I look fondly back on the journeys I have made with my students over the years. Few jobs hold such opportunities to be leaders of, and compatriots in, young people’s learning, and I will always be very proud to be a teacher.
