Much has changed since I first walked into a small three teacher school in the Riverina to teach a K/1 class. Now I am here, 18 years later having taught every grade, trained in Reading Recovery and been the RFF teacher. I have seen many ideas, initiatives, and theories come and go but one thing stays the same, the reason I do this job with passion every day. The part that means the most to me is the relationships I have with my students and their families. It is a privilege and an honour to be a teacher. Yes, some days it’s hard but that moment when a student reaches the point of understanding is magic! And worth every hour.
